1912 Paddy Wagon chopped-down rat

Hello everybody,

I know that this type of build is not everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoy doing one every now and then between shiny builds.  It gives me a chance to not have to worry about fingerprints, scratches, etc...  I wasn't really trying to fit into any particular style with this - it's certainly not "traditional" or period correct, and yes, the engine is outrageously over-carbed!  Hahaha!  But it's okay - I had fun with it.

This is Monogram's Police Paddy Wagon kit, chopped, channeled and with a scratchbuilt frame and rear suspension, and lots of other parts box and homemade goodies.  The engine is a Chrysler slant 6 from a Deora kit with a custom intake and crazy 6-Stromberg induction system. [The Strombergs are from Model Car Garage - they are excellent quality!!!]

The "finish" is several layers of flat black, brown and light green sanded through and topped off with a Sophisticated Finishes rust antiquing set.  The stuff is pretty cool, even if it is a bit chunky for this scale.

The floorboards are made from sheet aluminum.  Front fenders were scratchbuilt from plastic and aluminum.  The wheels and tires are from a 1932 Cadillac.

Anyway, even if this isn't really your kind of build, I hope that it can at least be enjoyed on the merit of something you don't see everyday.

Thanks for looking!  Smile
